What are NoFollow Links?
A NoFollow blank link is a link that contains a rel=”nofollow” attribute in its HTML code. This feature tells search engines not to pass authority from the linking page to the destination page. As such, NoFollow links have a very low value from an SEO perspective.
The NoFollow feature was introduced in 2005 by Google, Yahoo, and MSN to combat comment spam with the option of devaluing specific links to webmasters.
What are DoFollow Links?
The term “dofollow link” is used to describe a link that is the opposite of one that does not pass the authority. Technically, this is not a proper name because there is no such thing as a rel = “dofollow” feature. Some SEOs are quite strict about this.
